Macclesfield Liberal Democrats have been holding street stalls across the constituency introducing Neil Christian as their parliamentary candidate to fight the next general election.
“I’m hugely honoured to have been selected to stand here again. We simply don’t know when the next election will be called but with talk of no confidence votes, the unlawful proroguing of Parliament and no government majority in the Commons the Liberal Democrats have moved to an active campaign footing in preparation.” Neil tells us, “As the Liberal Democrat candidate for Macclesfield I will fiercely argue for the UK remaining in the EU and campaign for a greener and more socially just society”
Andrew Haldane, Chair of Macclesfield Liberal Democrats said “Neil is a dedicated campaigner and an excellent public speaker who is passionate about remaining in the EU, protecting our Environment and about social justice. Very many local people are looking for new answers to our broken political system and I am confident, that, if elected, Neil would be an outstanding Member of Parliament of whom Macclesfield would be proud.”
“Membership of the Liberal Democrats is at an all-time high, both nationally and locally here in Macclesfield, and that combined with the success of both the local and EU elections in May means we are facing very exciting times.” Neil says he’s clearly not alone in seeing the Liberal Democrats as the best placed Party to lead the opposition and challenge the status quo.
